Brand Positioning Strategies

Brand Positioning is quite important for the success of a company’s product portfolio in the market. Together with branding, it determines whether or not the product succeeds. So, do you have any idea, what exactly is positioning anyway? How does it differ from branding?


In simple words, positioning is about facts, and branding is about emotions. It refers to the main characteristics and benefits of a product that will directly get related with a specific group of consumers. For example, a new health drink that contains optimum amount of essential nutrients might be positioned as a health maker or meal-replacement product. It is a fact that the drink is good for health and nutritional as well. It can serve as an alternative to a sit-down meal.

Branding refers to the thoughts and feelings consumers have toward that product. It is all about helping a consumer to build a positive reputation for products available in the market.
